CALL FOR PAPERS –<\/strong> Porn and Its Uses<\/em><\/strong>. Special Issue of Synoptique: An Online Journal of Film and Moving Image Studies<\/em><\/strong>. Submission deadline: June 1st.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Synoptique<\/em> is inviting submissions for an upcoming special issue entitled \u201cPorn and Its Uses.\u201d Responding to the genre\u2019s marginal status in the academy and beyond, this special issue seeks to explore how pornography can be (re)framed as useful\u2014pedagogically, politically, aesthetically, and libidinally. Broadly framed, this may refer to pornography as both a difficult object of interest and as a method for critically analyzing the most pressing questions in our current moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All submissions may be written in either French or English.

Please submit completed essays or reports to the Editorial Collective (editor.synoptique@gmail.com<\/a>) and the issue guest editors Rebecca Holt (reba.s.holt@gmail.com<\/a>), Darshana Sreedhar Mini (mini@usc.edu<\/a>), and Nikola Stepi\u0107 (nikola.stepic@concordia.ca<\/a>) by April 30th<\/strong>. We will send notifications of acceptance by May 31st.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
