Students complete 12 credits of coursework at any of the participating universities.  

• At least 3 credits must be taken from Block A methodology seminars.
• The remaining credits are normally chosen from either Block A or Block B.

Block B seminars are divided into the following major categories :

• Periods and Territories
• Classification – Genres, Artistic Disciplines, Artistic Styles
• Thematic Questions
• Writings on Art
• Critical Examination of Artistic Context
• Formal and Semantic Studies

The language(s) of instruction and discussion for each course are indicated on the course description.  Students may submit their written work in either English or French. For more information on our unique bilingual environment, please consult our Language and Training page.

When taking courses outside your home institution, the rules of the host university apply, so be sure to inform yourself of that institution’s deadlines for dropping or adding courses.
