Sous la menace is a collateral event of the residency program Échange Montréal / La Havane, supported by the Regroupement des centres d’artistes autogérés du Québec (RCAAQ). The 2024 edition focuses on the recent departure of a significant number of artistic community members from Cuba. Sous la menace is also part of the work conducted by the COLIBEX Chair, specifically within the “Censorship and Creation” axis, exploring the intersection of democracy, human rights, and artistic creation. The event is organized by Analays Alvarez Hernandez (professor at Université de Montréal; collaborator at Chair Colibex) and Raquel Cruz Crespo (independent curator).
